Digitalization in Human Talent Management and its impact on Commercial Companies

Abstract

Digital transformation has transformed human talent management in business companies, promoting important changes in staff selection, training and growth procedures. This research examines the influence of digitalization on human resource management in commercial companies in Machala, Ecuador. Through a qualitative method using descriptive and explanatory analysis techniques, data was collected through surveys conducted in 45 companies registered with the Superintendency of Companies of Ecuador. The findings show that digitalization has improved efficiency in operations, the decision-making process and internal communication in the entities. However, obstacles were detected such as resistance to change and the lack of training in digital tools, which impacts the full integration of technology into the organization's procedures. Despite these challenges, most of the interviewees consider that digitalization constitutes a possibility to increase productivity and competitiveness in the market. Research determines that the implementation of digital technologies in human talent management not only updates company procedures, but also requires constant training strategies and digital leadership to enhance its beneficial effect. Companies are advised to allocate resources to training and the creation of a corporate culture focused on innovation, with the aim of ensuring a successful shift towards the digitalization of human talent.
